Alma Flores is actually the cook at the village's Adobe Hotel. Besides her fine cooking skills, she has a real talent for pottery. We just love the way that she combines hundreds of cuadritos (small squares) to form a beautiful design on her pottery. She learned this art form from Jorge Quintana, but has developed her own unique style. We have always loved her work! In this particular piece she combines the cuadritos into an eye catching and finely executed large and bold diamond pattern. Each tiny square is painted in the traditional manner using a hand crafted paint brush made of long strands of human hair. And the pot is formed by hand as well, without the use of a potter's wheel. A home run in every aspect! This piece is signed by the artist. A pottery display ring will be included at no additional cost.
