Alma Flores is actually the cook at the village's Adobe Hotel. Besides her fine cooking skills, she has a real talent for pottery. We just love the way that she combines hundreds of cuadritos (small squares) to form a beautiful design on her pottery. She learned this art form from Jorge Quintana, but has developed her own unique style. Her painted line work in the cuadricula style is the best around. We have always loved her work! Each tiny square is painted in the traditional manner using a hand crafted paint brush made of long strands of human hair. And the pot is formed by hand as well, without the use of a potter's wheel. This piece features a design where her small squares untie to form a thin diamond design accented with X's. A home run in every aspect! The piece is signed by the artist. A pottery display ring will be provided at no additional cost with your purchase.
