These musical animals are definitely cool and totally adorable! A great piece for any music lover! Inocencio Vasquez is a well known carver from the village of San Martin Tilcajete. He is known for his Day of the Dead pieces, including jointed skeleton and devil pieces that are often sitting around a table playing cards and drinking and skeleton mariachi band members. This alligator playing the saxophone while wearing overalls is everything that we love in Mexican Folk Art! Whimsy, creativity, color and just cool! Yet this work of art is also full of interesting details and a an amazing level of intricacy in the carving for such an affordable piece. We just love Inocencio's work, and are so happy to have it in stock now on our website.
