Just so much fun to look at! This parrot head pottery was expertly crafted by the well known Vidal Corona. Vidal is part of the famous Corona Family who live in the Barrio Lopez section of Mata Ortiz. He is known for how perfectly he hand forms his pottery, without the use of a potter's wheel. In fact he is one of the go to people in town for those who want to buy already formed, but unpainted, pottery. His pottery is smooth, elegant and light weight. I love the pottery that he paints though - always full of fun and usually portraying an animal theme. These parrot head pots are some of my favorites! Whimsical and cool! The pot is hand polished in the traditional manner, using an agate stone, to achieve a beautiful shine. Gorgeous! The piece is signed by the artist. And we always send along a pottery ring, should you choose to use it for display.
