Miriham Gallegos is one of the most inspirational women that I know.. a fine artist and an exemplary person! Miriham was at the top of our list to visit on our first trip to Mata Ortiz, and one of the principal motivations for our trip. Unfortunately on that occasion, Miriham was in Phoenix undergoing treatment for cancer. She fought hard and made much progress, and is now back home creating her very fine pottery. She is a fine example of overcoming the obstacles that life puts in our path, and a beautiful strong example for her children. As we are major fans of miniature work, Miriham's pottery really calls to us. This particular pot is no exception. Such precision in the finely painted detail of the cuadricula pattern that is traditional to the Gallegos Family, then accented with Miriham's Mimbres quail design! I love this round seed pot! The piece is signed by the artist.
