Lupita Mora is the daughter of the famous Master Potter Pilo Mora. She creates some visually striking pottery with her trademark butterfly patterns. These butterflies are masterfully painted, with a subtle color variation, that closely mimic the movement and appearance of the actual butterfly in nature. I just love her pottery, and am happy to be able to share it with you. The pot itself is quite light, especially for it's size! Crafting a pot by hand, without the use of a potter's wheel, and achieving such thin walls is an incredibly difficult task, and a sign of ultimate quality in Mata Ortiz pottery. And the clay in this particular piece is just stunning and eye catching with a deep and rich natural brown clay that is dug from the surrounding countryside. This pot is a true masterpiece! And then Lupita has expertly painted the butterfly pattern with great detail, using the traditional brush that she makes out of long strands of human hair! Amazing work! The piece is signed by the artist, and a pottery ring will be included with your purchase at no additional charge.
