This is a miniature version of Guadalupe Ledezma's incredible pot with an owl popping out of it! So adorable! Guadalupe Ledezma is the son of Olga Quezada Hernandez and Humberto Ledezma. He began making pottery when he was 17 years old, and is now in his late 20's or early 30's. I love the way that he has based his designs on the traditional style of his parents, yet adapted it with his own personal touch. The addition of the magnificent owl poking it's head out from the top of this pot is fantastic! It combines everything that we love in the whimsy of traditional folk art, with the modern aspects of fine art. The natural polish that he has achieved through the hand burnishing of the surface with an agate stone is amazing! And the fine detail in both the painting and the sculpture of the owl is spectacular. Like all of our pottery, this pot has been signed by the artist.
