Master Potter Betty Quezada is the very talented wife of Juan Quezada's son Noe. World famous for her work, she was one of the first artists whose work we added to our own personal collection. Betty does fine work in the elegant signature style of the famous Quezada family of Mata Ortiz, Mexico. This piece is done in a gorgeous earthy and natural matte black clay, that takes on an almost chocolate brown color after the firing She has painted the design in white paint with pops of red, that were applied with the traditional hand crafted paint brushes made of long strands of human hair. The sculpted stairway affect that she uses on the top of her pots is a signature style that you find on many of her pieces. It gives a beautiful visual and tactile feel to the piece.
